Integrate STEMARTS

The ISEA2012 curriculum tools offers students the opportunity to explore creative projects that dissolve the boundaries between science, technology and the arts.  Engaging students in STEM concepts and developing creativity and innovation are essential 21st century skills. The student directed approach makes this web-based tool adaptable for diverse learning styles and teaching environments.

Figuring out how you will integrate this project into your curriculum is often the hardest part. Will it be part of a science fair?  An art project? Part of your core curriculum?  Time needs to be allocated for the students to explore this project whether at home as an assignment, as a classroom project, or perhaps as an after-school project. Explore the possibilities and then schedule the time frame for the students.

The website is your lesson plan, and the student’s workspace.  Take the time to explore the different features and tools so that you can guide the students with their projects.

The Student Tools below can be found in the Tools section and are available as handouts for the different stages of the design process. You can print these out and review them with the class as they are needed.
