Energy states explored through Kinetic Sculpture

This was the first STEMArts pilot project with the goal of exploring multisensory learning modalities (visual, kinesthetic, auditory, interpersonal, etc.) to communicate core STEM concepts, based on a core theme from the National Science standards. We wrote and received a Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Foundation grant for the Taos Academy which brought Creative technologist, Steve Storz, into the school to lead an 8 week intensive workshop focusing on that theme. Students learned science and math concepts through the creation of  kinetic sculptures and shared their creations with their peers through a community and school wide presentation.
