STEMarts Lab receives Prestigious Patrick J. McGovern Award

We are honored to announce that STEMarts Lab has been awarded a prestigious grant from the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, recognizing our efforts to empower youth and communities through art, science, and technology. This grant marks a pivotal moment as we prepare to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into our mixed-reality installations and STEAM educational programs for the first time.

The Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, which awarded $73.5 million in charitable contributions this year, is dedicated to advancing ethical and inclusive AI solutions that promote equity and shared purpose. “When AI is used as a force for social progress, it creates space for radical change,” said Vilas Dhar, President of the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation. “The way we choose to envision, develop, and govern AI technologies today will fundamentally shape the future of our society. By investing in AI solutions grounded in human values, we can amplify human dignity, protect the vulnerable, drive global prosperity, and use technology as a force for good.”

This funding will enhance STEMarts Lab’s ability to create innovative AI-driven projects. In 2025, we will begin designing our first AI-powered mixed-reality installations and launching the Building New Worlds in AI Bootcamp series. These initiatives will be showcased at local and global art and science festivals, reflecting our interdisciplinary methodology of bridging art, science, and technology to inspire and empower youth leaders and communities.

We are deeply grateful to the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation and our community of supporters for making this next chapter possible. Together, we are using the power of creativity and technology to build a more equitable future.
